Can't get skins to work.

I haven't used winamp in years, however i have again grown tired of media player and downloaded the latest version of winamp(several days ago). I applied the classic skin, and like always, got tired of that very quick. i went to the skin browser and found the MMVII- Freeze skin. It had good reviews, it looked great, and i was excited to use it again. however after downloading it i was unable to apply it. I can't even find it in the skins menu. I then attempted to install other skins and none work. I'm doing the same thing i've always done but now, with vista, it's not working. help!

Try right clicking on a Winamp desktop or start menu item and select 'Run as administrator'

I realized my mistake. i did not save it in the winamp skins folder. problem solved right? wrong. it tells me i don't have permission to save in that file and need to contact the admin. but i am using the admin account, actually the only account. i went to turn off UAC and it told me i didn't have permission to do so. crazy! ahwell, guess i'm stuck with classic winamp

Do you see elevator.exe and elevatorps.dll in the Winamp directory (usually C:\Porgram Files\Winamp)? Applies to Vista only

Please provide additional Winamp & system specs.

i'm having trouble with skins as well. this is a fresh vista business install with a new winamp 5.541 lite install and .wsz skin files seem to work fine, but .wal files don't seem to be supported.

i might die if i can't use the mmd3 skin any longer.

i tried to simply rename the .wal files to .wsz, but my noobish attempt at trickery has failed.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lite does not support Modern Skins (WAL files). Download and install the Full version
