Nope, 5.541 is ~three month ago release.

BTW, seems it will be a big NY/Xmas surprise&gift! In that case Winamp dev-team like a Santa Claus.

So, don't worry, guys!

Ehmn, what if Winamp 5.55 gave us a new colortheme for both Bento and the Winamp Modern skin: A Christmas theme. Ahh, would be awesome. Think about it - Bento with Christmas theme.. Would be awesome, heh

Yeah, I have as well.
But its old. It doesnt have the features that WA 5.5 gave us, or even earlier as well, since this skin was made in 2005. What if people could update their skins?

Btw, I see this skin is made by "Nullsoft Skins" - ie. the Nullsoft/Winamp Dev team? Or?

Anyway, a update for this skin (or make it an official colortheme for the standard skin), and the same colors for a colortheme on Bento - would be awesome. Not this year I assume, but maybe next year..

Kn0tte

Do you remember the 2 Bento for Winamp Modern color themes we collaborated on not too long ago?

Well, while you are in the Winamp Modern skin using the Color Editor, clone and then export the color themes you would to see in Winamp Modern Holiday. When you export them, save them to the folder C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\ColorThemes\Exact Name the Winamp Holiday Skin

If you don't have that folder you can create it. Also do not include the .wal extension as part of the folder name.

[edit] If you want to further discuss this please start a new thread here in Winamp Discussions, instead of posting in the Released thread -- Thanks

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

I heard that everytime someone mentions 5.55 or asks when the next version will come out, Benski pushes the release date back a day. So maybe if we all stop talking about it, it can get here already.

BTW, 5.55 is not "on topic"

No worries Kn0tte. I was just suggesting a way to have the Bento color themes in the Winamp Holiday skin. That's all.

who in their right-mind would release software just before christmas when everyone is typically going/on holiday and so no one would be around to deal with any last minute show-stoppers once it hit the public. at least if you lot are going to wastelessly make predictions of release dates put some common sense thought into it all

The makers of my e-mailclient (The Bat!) has done just that. They've released, I think, 3 new versions of their software in the last two days!

Even today (last day of the year) developers are releasing new versions of their software:

K-Lite Codec Pack 4.4.5 (freeware)
Realtek High-Definition Audio Driver 2.13 (freeware)
Foobar2000 v0.9.6.1 (freeware)

etc.

Winamp Essentials Pack 5.541 is now available on Winamp.com too. AOL finally fixed my resubmit after many weeks. So this is 6 versions newer than what was available on the website before.

Winamp Essentials Pack v5.541

Hopefully we can make that latest version is always available on the website, but it's not in my hands.

If you've any trouble with the website, please don't let me know, i'll simply ignore it.

File info problem

Have someone noticed that when you'll use 'Remove...' | 'Remove Duplicate Entries' command on your playlist (when you of course had duplicates on it), in File Info, path and file name becomes at small letter. All of it. But thats not all. When you will delete file to the trash can, Winamp changes its name to small letters.

Will it be fixed?

Sorry for my bad English

has been reported a number of times since the jtfe plugin cache which is used when doing that action stored everything internally lowercased for speed optimisations at the time. as internal handling has now been changed in the next upcoming release of the plugin, this issue should no longer appear (even though it was all working correctly as designed as per 2005 design implementation).

You said that it's all fault of JTFE plugin, theres no difference if it's turn on or turn off (i've got it turned off)?

the remove duplicates option for the playlist editor is only provided by jtfe, the only way to remove that is to delete the plugin (as i think it was an option left enabled irrespective of other parts of the plugin being disabled). either way the playlist entries will preserve their case in the next release of the plugin (potentially in the next few days if i'm able to get away from real work to sort out new installers, etc for it).

it should also hopefully resolve the odd random crashes that you reported recently but cannot be certain (other people have reported it working better under such situations).

When is the next version out?
When is the next version out?
When is the next version out?
When is the next version out?

There won't be no version 6, and no beta neither. Not for you anyway. I do use beta versions myself (version 555 built 2317), but I'm not sharing.

File Info updating

Is this possible for you to do to not update the file info when Cancel button were pressed (this same goes to laps that were last viewed - Basic info (default)) ?

Something else. There shouldn't be updated file info where there wasn't any changes by pressing OK.

Yeah nothigs changes, but Winamp overwrites original file. I think DrO knows about this.
Winamp repeats 1-2 seconds of the track. Even if there wasn't any changes.

Wierd. I cant reproduce this. If you change info, of course the track repeats the last second. (more like it skips) because thats the standard of ID3v2.3. But when I press cancel, it doesnt skip or repeat or rewrite the file. Has anyone else been able to repro this? Or is this "Kn0tte a problem"?

Yeah, but if you don't change info and although that the track repeats the last second?
Is this also part of the standard of ID3 2.3?

I am sorry, I forgot part of my post.
If I do view info, dont change any of the information and press O.K. It does NOT skip or rewrite the file.

If I do view info, dont change any of the information and press Cancel. It does NOT skip or rewrite the file.

If I do view info, and then change the information and press O.K. It does skip or rewrite the file.

And yes, I think that you should do a clean reinstall of winamp if you have not done that already.

So part of your problem was cured by a reinstall? Interesting. I wonder if it was a plugin you had or something. I dont have an answer for you, but something tells me that it could be something on your system and not a problem with the core functionality itself.
