kernel32.dll entry point HeapSetInformation not located

I have a PC that I had to go through a complete re-install of the OS and everything else.

Winamp is giving me an annoying problem when it starts up, though this does not stop it from functioning properly...

When launched and before it appears, an error dialog appears that says (dialog image attached):

DDE Server Window: winamp.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point HeapSetInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll

I have checked, and the KERNEL32.dll in my system32 folder has the same date as a previous one used. That doesn't mean there is no problem with it, but before I go changing it (which requires booting from CD-ROM in repair mode, since this file appears to be in use once a normal startup occurs), I thought I would ask here in case there is some known issue with an easier fix.

Not easy to diagnose without seeing a HJT log, List of Plugins, dxdiag log.

What's your Windows OS?

See: 2.1.9. .NET Framework

(or search page for "HeapSetInformation")

Hallo;
OS: Win2K SP4
Winamp: V5.541
The attached dxdiag.txt has hardware info in it
All drivers are the latest.
As for plugins I have what ever winamp comes with by default. I haven't added any plugins.

I also get the same popup when starting Winamp.
a window with "The procedure enrty point HeapSetInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."
It only has an "OK" button to continue.

In the event viewer I also found an entry under "System Log"
Type: Information
Source: Application Popup
Category: None
Event ID: 26
Application Popup: DDE Server Window: winamp.exe - Entry Point Not Found : The procedure entry point HeapSetInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

I have had this problem since the latest winamp version update and I recently wiped and re-installed everything and the problem persists. My previous Win2K install had .NET 2.0 running and still had the error. I read the MS page DJ Egg linked to and the KB article doesn't seem to cover the issue for Win2K.

Hopefully this helps shed some light on the issue.
Maybe there is an easy fix?
Is there a .NET requirement for the latest version of Winamp?

Thank you ^^

HeapSetInformation fix

To remove that annoying kernel32.dll error when winamp starts, simply install NET Framework.
