Winamp doesn't see my Sansa E280
Ever since upgrading to Winamp 5.X my Sansa E280 is no longer recognized by Winamp (per "portables" on Media Library tab). My computer recognizes it per Windows Explorer list and specifies device by name. When I tried testing with another media player, MediaMonkey, my Sansa was recognized with no problem.
I'm running XP sp2 on a Dell Dimension and have had no other configuration changes that would account for this problem that seems exclusive to Winamp (5.X). |

Sansa support dependent on WMP?
I have pretty much the same hardware configuration and am running WinAmp 5.541. I had a very similar problem.
At first my system (Windows Explorer, that is...) didn't recognize the Sansa e250 at all. Neither did WinAmp nor WMP 9. I installed WMP 10 and now the device shows up in Windows Explorer and both WMP and WinAmp. So I assume the actual handling of the device is done by some component in WMP. If so, that's too bad since I really didn't want to install Windows Media Player on my computer. |
