"DigitalDragon" suggested I make a third skin on my own without using components from other people’s skins.
So this one is all my work. Here is the result so far: ![]() http://mylilpeoples.50megs.com/winamp/linxamp.html Any suggestions or helps? What do you think? Also how do you open the "mikroamp"? |

Love the penguin, but you need to customize it more.

Honestly, I'm not trying to discourage you...
But there are a few skins out there along these same lines.
http://www.winamp.com/skins/detail.j...omponentFlag=S http://www.winamp.com/skins/detail.j...omponentFlag=S http://www.winamp.com/skins/detail.j...omponentFlag=S http://www.winamp.com/skins/detail.j...omponentFlag=S http://www.winamp.com/skins/detail.j...omponentFlag=S http://www.winamp.com/skins/detail.j...omponentFlag=S I'm not trying to imply you copied them, because any fan of Linux is acquainted with the penguin. And I'm not saying you shouldn't go ahead and pursue completing this skin, especially if you're a big Linux fan. All I'm saying is there are similar skins out there, so if you want to do the penguin, be aware of the competition and put your own unique stamp on it, which means straying from the safety of remodeling the base amp, buttons, sliders... Take a chance. I'll tell you one thing, you picked a much better color scheme than most of the others, so that's great start. |

thanks
Thanks for your input!
I had the same thoughts on the buttons and decided to post it and find out if this was a good theme to follow before putting a lot of time into the buttons. DigitalDragon, I am a Linux fan but I had no idea that there were so many linux skins out there, I thought I had something new. thanks again! |

Linux logo
JZ_UK, the penguin is the logo for the Linux OS.
I have changed the play buttons and am working on the rest of the buttons and other windows now. here is what it looks like without the block buttons. http://mylilpeoples.50megs.com/winamp/linxamp.html (I don't mean to update every day, but I was doing this post anyway and I thought "Hey why not put the changes in?") |

You know, looking over those skin links DigitalDragon posted, I'm thinking he did you a nice favor, la_mano. Despite the fact that there are several skins already using your chosen theme, I'd say yours is the best on going.
Keep making those changes away from the standard controls. I like your new cbuttons look. Don't forget all the other windows, and let us know when it's done. Lunatic fringe, we know you're out there. |

Gotta agree with cappy...
the new cbuttons are a great impovement. Definitely looking forward to seeing you carry the theme into the other components, and seeing the finished product.

I think the EQ controls need some customizing (I'm not sure this is part of the "fix the buttons" bit you mentioned on your page). They look too much like the base skin. I think either motif you have going (Cbuttons or Playlist buttons) would work.

Clean and effective, if somewhat spartan. I agree with cappy and DD that it's better than the set in the links DD posted. Still, I'm not into Linux, so I doubt I'd use it, just like I wouldn't expect people to use the Game skins I've made if they're not into the game.

I think the MB buttons would look nice in the same style as the Cbuttons. That penguin is cool.
