when i rip, i use EAC b/c i want the accurate rip feature and the ability to name files differently when its a VA cd, but i also have WMP open and it gets me the art and adds only MISSING metadata. then i use winamp smartview to just make sure all is tagged correctly. very easy once you get it all down. How about adding the "Edit selected items" option to the Dropbox?
The Tagger plugin adds it to Playlist Editor and I found it very useful. Thanx |

Has the issue been addressed in this release, were Winamp closes when a portable player in MPT mode is connected to WinXP PC and WMP 11 drivers installed?

Alternating colors in Media library listing
OK it can be enabled if available. So it is enabled, but apparently there is a second control. But where is it? I looked in the color definitions, and there were no apparent changes there.
I would like to have this in my skin, and it appears faintly, but not as well as in the Modern skin. I assume there is a change in XML somewhere???? |

Yup, I looked in the xml color definition file and did not find anything. I doubt it is documented yet, but I will look there.

I see that it is now possible to lock windows in place. Thanks!!!

Really.. this is what I was experiencing for awhile there.. Downloading now and hoping you're right. I guess maybe it fixed itself?
Edit: Yup. Cool! I always wished this plug would let you edit the Disc field though; only way I ever found it deficient. Request: A little SmartView Query Language love. |

Colors on right click menus
The color schemes for right click menus now are different for the media library and playlist windows in the Modern Skin.
Is this a bug or feature? If it is a new feature how do I put the color schemes back to be the same? I did not see anything about this previously in the list. I have some right click menus that are no longer easily readable with the color change. |

You can disable this feature:
Preferences-Media Library-Appearence-Use skinned menus @Devs: what about all the other menus in Windows-look? Will these menus be sometimes skinable too? ClassicPro - Enhanced Winamp www.skinconsortium.com my skins: http://www.winamp.com/user/details/4391303 |

more work needs to be done on the skinned menus stuff since it's got the potential to fail under plugins adding in their own items (had to fix some of the jtfe media library menus to conteract this issue) plus it's something that needs more integration to allow for skins to have better control over the colours (especially with classic skins where it's far from ideal with the selected colours or as pointed out by clementj for his skin). but i wouldn't expect to see that happening for some time (and to be honest, unless the skin is properly designed to use the menus it's never going to look too good imho so should be an opt-in feature).

The different menu colors happen in the Winamp designed skins, so I think the existing skins have not been modified to take advantage of this. All of the skins Modern, Classic, and Bento have this behavior.
Is there any documentation I can lay my hands on? After all you can turn a bug into a feature just by documenting it. And yes, the question would never have come up if it had defaulted to off. |

as i said it's something that needs more work and is defaulted to off so if it was running for you then you must have enabled it at some point (like when testing the alternate colouring options maybe?). due to these 'quirks' that is why it's not enabled by default and as i said more needs to be done to make it useable especially if it is potentially going to be rolled out for the rest of winamp (and i so hope it remains as an opt-in feature) but that is something for the devs actually working on this thing than for me to worry about.

is it happening with all playlists or just a specific few? also i'd need to have an example of one that is crashing since i rewrote most of the playlist code and i'm not able to crash it/have it fail with any of the examples i've thrown at it.

Just wanted to check, i think its been mentioned somewhere but the "add ENQUEUE AND PLAY" option to windows shell in jtfe is defunct in the latest builds. I enable it, then the next time i restart winamp it is disabled again. I'm using vista 32bit, win 7 32bit and vista 64bit with clean winamp installations.

i've still not upgraded the registry code to be fully vista compatible (had to go out and buy a new box with it on at the start of the year but haven't moved dev tools onto it so far). i think just might have to do a quick run of winamp as an admin and do it that way for the moment (am surprised you don't get a uac prompt or something like that on it).
is something i've got listed near the top of my todo list, just is a matter of time on my part. -daz |
