Permute a string

Hi there,
I'm trying to create a product license key registry entry, and my plan is to recover the Widows product license key, hash or permute it in some way and store it in my own license key. I have recovered the windows key, but can anyone reccomend a good way of hashing or otherwise permuting it?

there are some crypto plugins on the wiki, or you can roll your own with intop

(and remember, people will still pirate your stuff, no way around it)
