ID3v1 or ID3v2

I just d/l the version 2.74
Now it is showing the ID3v2 on the playlist. How can I make it show the info of ID3v1? I have about 700 songs and 4/5 of them are not in Eng. So I input all the info in English by myself. Now it is showing all the weird characters because of the ID3v2. This is just a mess. Please help me.... or I think I have to go back to ver 2.5

I'm afraid that you cant - it's either ID3v2 or nothing. You can download a mass tagger though, and concert all your ID3v1 tags to ID3v2 tags.
