DSP Encoder Settings Won't Save

We go into the encoder settings for the DSP Plug-in 1.9.0, and setup the encoders with our settings. When we close winamp and go back to the DSP Plug-in, there are no settings there at all.

The PC is a Vista machine with all the latest patches, winamp is most current as is the DSP plug-in

Any ideas why this is happening?

well, there's your problem.

Right click on the Winamp Icon and select "Run as Administrator"

i have the same problem, i'm running on a administrator account not named "Administrator" and is password protected..

actually everything is saving but the encoder setting, it goes always back to AAC+..

note : it would be cool to start the dsp minimized for future updates..

i have uac disabled so right clic "run as administrator" doesn't change anything (i still tried and as i exptected it didn't change anything)

i will try to logon with the real administrator account

btw, appart from this, i think that bitching around on vista and still using microsoft products is lame..it's only a question of adaptation. and some people are more open to adaptation than others, that's all why don't u just go back to win 2000 ?

i just tested with the real administrator account..

everything is saving but the encoder settings

since this is clearly a bug, and since vista is now running for years, that buying a pc with xp is impossible, a fix for this would be nice

i think if moderators on this forum are still bitching on vista, users should just stop using this product..

i really hate this way of thinking : instead of searching solutions, just putting problems on someone else shoulder's..this is so cowardish, unproductive and also moronish.

the best is, as i said in the previous post, that those people are STILL USING microsoft product's. honnestly, i don't get it..yes, maybe try something else than computers

reading such **** begin's really to piss me off

Yes, I agree that simply putting down Vista is not in the spirit of forums such as these. Vista is here to stay like it or not and many people cannot get XP anymore.

With that said, I too have a DJ on Vista that the settings sometimes are saved and other times are not saved. She is running the program as administrator as well.

The SHOUTcast DSP is very old and hasn't been updated in multiple years. Right now we can offer work around, but that's about it. Yes, the SHOUTcast DSP needs to be updated to save it's settings in the Application Data folder instead of the Program Files folder but it has not.

Current development, the first time we have see in in *many* years is focused on SHOUTcast2 and sc_trans. Which is another viable option instead of the old SHOUTcast DSP.
