Windows dimming - IE and Media Player after winamp install

After installing Winamp (5.52) I am experiencing other windows dimming the way that Winamp does - is ther any way to turn this off.

If a website is dark, the window dims (in IE), also in Win Media Player - If I start a DVD - movie the screen dims.

Annoying as .....

I have Winamp 5.52, Vista Home Premium.

That is not a feature of Winamp. check for any other applications you have installed that may be doing that.
