Winamp 5.55 crash on open
Hello,
I have always preferred Winamp to other media player and have used it for years now. But...recently every time I open it it just crashes and i get the message "Winamp has stopped working" This happens every time I open it now. I have tried reboot and uninstall/reinstall and the problem is still there. I am running on Vista btw Anyone else experiencing anything similar cheers |

I just installed 5.55 on a windows XP system, and it crashes everytime i try to play a song.
It was working just fine shortly after installation. Then i added an mp3 that i had created through a 3rd party mp3 encoder. I then removed that mp3 thinking it was the cause of the crash, but then Winamp still crashes. I restarted, did a clean unistall and reinstall and it still crashes. Not sure what's going on here. System specs: Windows XP service pack 3 1.5GB ram 1.3ghz processor soundblaster audigy sound card radeon 9600 video card At this time, winamp is completely non-functional. And not sure if there's a way to roll-back to the previous version? Edit: the gen_nomad.dll file is NOT present in my plugins directory. The threads referencing this indicated to remove this file, however, in my case, it is not present. |

Just started
This just started happening to me today (6/11/09).
Could be the new Vista update that just installed. I have tried reinstalling Winamp to no avail. |
