[Skins] Bento Help
Long version:
An hour ago, I had a favourite skin.. It was Dark Materia, now I changed it to Bento(has a lot of new possibilities) In all normal skins (will take Classic skin as example), the toolbars(equalizer, playlist) can be easily closed and the user can change their place. But in Bento the toolbars are bended(so i can not do anything). How can i change it? I checked all the options, nothing changes. Short version: Before img207.imageshack.us/my.php?image=93921561.png After img208.imageshack.us/my.php?image=97482758.png |

You just can't do that with an GUI skin. When will people understand that? Post after post they want to split the windows in this skin, or other GUI skins. IT CAN'T BE DONE, PERIOD.
If you want to break it apart, try the Bento Classified skin. http://www.fusionamp.com/bento_classified.htm

I used to love different skins, but now I just like to have the "official" one,
well 'Bento' seems to BE the new official one. But now I also like to have a lot of features on-screen where I can access and monitor them well. Anyway, shouldn't these modern and more advances skins GET the ability to be split up into multiple windows? I mean, about everything modern is made "modular" as it were. Plus, I don't see why the modern skins shouldn't be able to do it when the older were. I see the difference in the way they work, but couldn't that be modified down the line? If not that, myself I would like to be able to customize it a little more. Like change the sizes of all the parts a bit more, besides only being able to choose "Bento Standard" and "Bento Big" or something. I know you can drag the parts like the the playlist etc. but it all still feels slightly limited. It would be great to be able to like drag all these columns to a whole different place, according to what the user likes. Or did I miss something and is that actually possible? You know, besides creating a whole new (customized Bento) skin. Just directly as a feature of these types of skins. Because they deserve to be the most advanced.

Bento is what happens when poor design gets coupled with popularity (iTunes) and influences people who should know better into creating what is now the default skin.

Bento is a Single User Interface skin, that is the point. Winamp comes with both Winamp Classic and Winamp Modern. Both those have detachable windows. There are thousands of skins available for download. You are not gonna like them all, regardless if they come with the installer or not. Bento is NOT going to change.

Bento is no more "official" than the Classic or Modern default skins.

As if it couldn't be upgraded or anything, really stubborn. And as if we're talking about something big. This is what you get if you think like that. - Damage Inc. |

You're not talking something big, you're just talking something stupid. As a skin, bento is complete, no more changes or updates are planned, what you see is what you get.
If you don't like a SUI skin, you are free to download one or more of the 2650 skins in the database. Remember, a SUI skin is a single frame, something people were asking for for years. Now that one has been included in the main Winamp distribution, you want to break it into seperate components. We already have that, can't you people understand that? Sometimes I think anybody asking for that is a little braindead.

Ehm, that's what I said, I'm talking about something simple. And the guy makes a big deal out of it like "OH IT'S NOT GOING TO CHANGE". As if it's something huge to change or whatever... Quote:

He, the way you want to change it is to make it in a component skin. That is NOT what Bento is, Bento is a SUI skin, even its very name suggests that.
You could ask if someone wants to make another modern skin that looks like Bento broken up in different parts, but Bento will always be a SUI skin, if that would ever change, it would not be Bento anymore. Like I said, the name of this skin says what kind of skin it is.

I don't know much about it, or else I wouldn't say it. Why wouldn't it be "Bento" anymore if anything changed? It's just a name isn't it? Weird... - Damage Inc. |

No, it is not just a name, Google it and see what you come up with.
