Winamp closes almost immediately after I open it.
So, I woke up this morning, booted up winamp to get my morning dose of tunes, and it closed immediately. Didn't even give me the normal winders error report thing. You know, the "Windows has encountered a problem, blah blah blah, send error report"? That doesn't even pop up, it just crashes.
"Pft", I figure "I haven't updated Winamp in a while, surely that will fix it!", so I download the newest version, open it up, aaaaaand. Bupkis. Hmm. "Well, maybe a clean install will help things along!", so I blow away my Winamp folder with Absolute FileShredder (after backing up my skins and custom EQFs, of course), then I go to the Application Data/Winamp folder and shred that, too. A fresh install, aaaaaand. Same stuff! HRM! At this point, I give up and think "Hm, well, maybe a system restore?", so I do a system restore to a couple days ago, repeat the above steps (shredding every winamp folder, and reinstalling), and same thing! After another fresh install, I reboot, same thing! Uninstall and shred everything again, reboot, reinstall after booting, same thing! Reinstalled Winamp on a different drive entirely, aaaaaaand...same thing, HRM. What did I break? Help me out, ya all. |

Uhhhhhhh, somewhere amongst all the installs reboots and reinstalls, it decided to start working again. It wasn't working, I decided to ask the INTERNET what was wrong, hence why I came here. Then, I plug in my MP3 player, it automatically opens up with Winamp, as is the norm, and Winamp started working...I don't get it, but I'll take it!
