Problems with volume

It happens with all file types but depending on the file it happens a bit differently. If I am listening to an audio CD, the CD Volume in the Windows Master Control window is reset to the lowest setting at the start of each new track. If I am listening to an mp3, It is the Wave Volume setting that is reset to the lowest setting when a new track starts.
