Can't listen and type
Hello,
When I am listening to winamp and try to type a paper, the sound gets all messed up. The music is still playing but it is constantly skipping. I have friends who can type and listen so I know it can be done- but how? I tried winamp>prefrences>process priority class>realtime, and I also tried my computer>control panel>sounds>schemes> no sound. Neither effort helped anything. I have a laptop- a compaq presario 1700 and I use Windows 98. Thanks! [Edited by jbh101296 on 05-01-2001 at 12:52 PM] |

I'm not familiar with the Presario series, so maybe you could tell me a few specs? Maybe your computer is too slow to handle both a word processor and WinAmp at the same time.

i also think that you have a slow processor. u can either get it upgraded or do one thing at a time. also u might wanna try other processes that might be runnin' at that time.

I have a Pentium III Processor and I am running the latest version of Winamp. I have tried some of the suggestions from the links above, but none have worked so far. Let me know if you need any other information, and I will try to find it for you.
Thanks! |

Also- I forgot to mention that the same thing happens when I use Real Player, although it's not quite as bad.
