Licencing

I don't know if this is even the right place to post this but I'm hoping someone can help. Previously all I had to do was load my song list into winamp and play the tunes. Now when I try to play them a notice comes up about having to be licenced to play them. Then a little box pops up to ask if I want to go to a website to accuire the licence. When I click yes, it comes up action cancelled & that the site can't be accessed. Kinda defeats the purpose of having winamp because as of right now it's useless because I can't use it. I've used winamp for a long time & would like to continue using it. Anybody got any idea how I can access this licencing website?

It's not Winamp that is useless, it is the music. Where did you get these files from? Sounds like DRM restricted WMA files, which require a license to play. These tracks generally cannot be moved to a diffrent computer then the one they were originally downloaded from.

Some of the files I already had...uploaded from CDs etc. The rest i got from Spiralfrog. Up until recently I'd been able to play all my music without a problem. Now I can't play anything. I also wasn't implying that Winamp was useless...I like winamp. I was just saying that it's useless for me to have it if I can't use it. I'm just wondering why I've been able to play my music for years and now all of a sudden I'm faced with licencing issues...especially when I try to go to the licencing site & it won't come up.

Try those files with Windows media player to see if that will work. If it does they should also play in Winamp.

Maybe the site is having technical difficulties.
