Problem with line-in

Hi, I have the following problem with winamps line-in function:
When I press ctrl+l and type in "linein://" winamp acesses the line-in of my computer, but I can't hear anything.
However the visualisations still work, what shows, that winamp is getting the signal, i just can not hear it through my speakers.
