sort list by title bug

disclaimer: yes this is a "clean" install, winamp downloaded and installed 2 days ago on a brand-spanking-new xp install done the night before. no add-ons, no extensions, no plug-ins, i haven't even downloaded any skins yet.

step 1) enque in winamp
step 2) sort list by title
step 3) roughly 90% of songson playlist are now on there twice

i have tried adding songs one by one (up to about 100 just for the sake of empirical data), adding folder by folder, adding a small group of folders at a time, and adding ALL folders at once (through the add dir function).

when i go to playlist options and set "when loading multiple files, sort files by name" to on, this does not happen on "add dir". what DOES happen when i then "sort list by title": some entries are doubled, some are tripled, and some are left alone.

an amusing side-bug: add dir doesn't actually add all the files. out of 1,410 it only manages to get 1,398 of them.
