Winamp Shuffle.

So I searched through the directory for similar threads, which there seems to be quite a few about the shuffle feature but none of them really address my problem so here goes:

I'll switch shuffle on then double click "All genres" to play every song in my library on shuffle. It'll shuffle every song but it's ALWAYS in the same order no matter what I do. Tried it with less songs and the same problem occurs - plays the songs in the same order every time.

So is there any way to fix this? Help is much appreciated.

Sorry to be an arse or anything and I know I shouldn't double post but can somebody put some sort of input in - if I can't get this problem sorted out on Winamp's forums then where am I supposed to go?

I think you are confusing the order shown in the playlist with the order they play. Doing it the way you do Winamp will always load the playlist with the tracks in the order specified by the query eg Artist/Album/Track. But it will PLAY them randomly.

If you enqueue the library instead and then in the playlist go Misc button - Sort - Randomise List it will shuffle the list order.

Either way though, the result should be same.

My shuffle hasn't worked since I upgraded to 5.551 !!!!

Months ago I contacted WinAmp more times than I care to remember. My shuffle was having the same problems as many were having. It would play the 1st song, jump to the last, then play the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, in order down the line.

They started getting upset WITH ME!!

So we switched over to MediaMonkey. Their shuffle works perfectly.

If anyone finds out if WinAmp ever fixes the Shuffle problem, please drop us a line.
