It's a tossup between what's crashing my computer-- winamp2.75 or my new sound card drivers.

System specs: 1ghz Athlon 266fsb, Abit KT7A mobo, 384mb ram, SB Live! Value, and Win2k pro.

I've installed the 686B southbridge patch, and new sound card drivers for my soundcard, which seem to be causing me to have random crashes, mostly when winamp is running. Actually, everytime it locks up, winamp was running. When it does lock up, it loops about .1 seconds of sound over and over, a complete lockup, I have to power down.

Ok, I just uninstalled/reinstalled.. I played with my sound card drivers too. I'm gonna let it run overnight, if I wake up to discover it froze.. well, its probably my drivers, since I just made sure it was new ones that were installed.

It froze about 30 minutes after I woke up while making my daily website rounds.

Dido

I am having the exact same problems with my computer. I have also uninstalled and tried reinstalling winamp several times with no change. I have also tried many other things and found only dead ends. I mostly listen to the radio and thought that that was my problem and found that winamp only freezes when I start to browse the web. I am open to any suggestions please.
