When I broadcast, the mp3 stream is silent, but anything that goes into the microphone is broadcast... Perhaps someone can help me out here.

Winamp Version: 2.75
DSP Version: 1.8.0

OS: Windows 2000 Professional SP 2
Soundcard: SoundBlaster Live

Everything used to work just fine, until I purchased a microphone and enabled it in the DSP...

First, I figured it was something wrong with my install of Winamp, so I reinstalled. No luck.

Second, I thought it could be something with the advanced config. of the DSP, so I switched everything back to what it used to be, again no bones.

Third, I figured my audio codecs were fscked up, so I went all out and reinstalled my system... and amazingly another silent stream...

Fourth, I posted on this forum. Hopefully I'll get an intelligent response.

-I even watched the little install video packaged with the DSP =p-

One thing I did notice, is that I do *NOT* have a StereoMixer channel on the soundcard...

i had your same issue. your problem is the SBLive card. I never successfully got that configured properly to work if you wanted to talk on air. basically, i've seen a few people that say they get it to work but i've never been able to.

the SBLive has been an issue since I can remember (and i've been around a while). How did i solve it? I bought a Diamond MX300 and it works like a charm. any Aureal card should do the trick.

Well I fooled around with it and I am pretty sure I got it to work with my Sound Blaster Live! Here are the screen shots I took so you can just copy these settings. I hope it will work for you too.

Give those a try and let us know how it turns out for you.

Sorry for my delayed reply, but everything works now... Thanks a ton, Mr Tom.

What a terrible name for a channel... "What U Hear" aka "Stereo Mixer" . . . Someone shoot me now. Creative needs to make better cards.

Oh well, I already ordered a new Yamaha one, (24 optical channels =p) Eat that Creative!

Silent Stream

I set up the server and plug-in and everything, and made sure to forward ports 8000-8001 to my static Ip server machine. All is good here.

When I connect from a different machine, the name of the song comes up like normal, but I cant get any sound. Ive tried on numerous other computers but none of them can get any sound from the server, although they are connected, the song name is showing and it the song time is ticking like normal.

Windows 2000 SP2
Latest Winamp DSP and DNAS
Creative Soundblaser PCI card..no microphone hooked up.
Linksys BEFSR41 Router

ANy ideas? this is driving me nuts.

Since you do not have a mic disable advanced mode.
To do so:
Open Winamp
Press Ctrl + P
Click on DSP/Effect
Highlight "SHOUTcast Source ...."
Press "Configure"
Remove the check next to "Enable Advanced Recording Mode"

If that doesn't work or you are not in Advanced mode let us know and we'll try some other stuff.

TOM!

I bow to your Shoutcastedness! Disabling advanced (mic) mode worked. Excellent. Thank you so much.
