I've looked through the forum and FAQ for this, but either it's not addressed or i've missed it. Anyway, is there any way to bookmark a directory? what i would like to do is get one-click to fill from a directory and all subdirectories. since the contents of my directories are always changing, it is too much trouble to recreate a new playlist everytime, and clicking AddDir is too many steps.
Thanks! Kaufman |

I know how to bookmark a folder if that helps?
I don't know where you instaled winamp but its probly in C:\progrma files\winamp\. If you go to the winamp folder there is a file called winamp.bm when you try to open it windows being the helpfull program that it is, Decides it has no idea what it's doing and asks you which program to use to open it. The simplest one that every one has got is notepad. Lets use an exmple a say that in your "my documents" folder youve got a folder called "music" and you want to bookmark that folder. Open winamp.bm using notepad and then go onto a new line at the bottom of the document. For our example you would type on the first line:
C:\My Documents\Music Then press enter and on the second line you type what you want to appear when you select the bookmarks menu. For example: My Favourite Songs Then save the document and load winamp. When you slide out the bookmarks menu you should have a button saying "My Favourite Songs" Click this and it will open all the playlists and mp3's in that folder. You can then change the contents of that folder at will and you shouldn't have any problems, P.S It is probably best to store all you playlists in a seperate folder to youre mp3's incase it opens the same song lots of times. Using the same method as above you can bookmark single playlists ( but you have to alter the winamp.bm file if you move the playlists after bookmarking then) so that you can play albums stored on your PC at the slide of a menu and the click of a button. Sorry if there are any typo's Hope I helped. Cronically Insane at youre service. P.S if like me you store lots of mp3's on your computer you can download a program called CDex from this site http://www.cdex.n3.net the latest version is 1.40 beta 3. Use it to record CD tracks onto your computer as mp3's. |
