Line In working but no sound output
So I found out on the forums how to use Line-In in WinAmp. (Ctrl+L > linein://)
The problem now is that I don't get to hear any sound. I'm testing it now with my iPod connected with a 3.5 inch jack to my line in. Though I'm sure WinAmp does get the signal from the Line-In as the Spectrum Analyzer starts/stops as I start/stop the music from my iPod, I just don't get to hear any sound through my speakers/head phone. WinAmp still works perfect with any song I play from my harddrive, it's only the Line-In. I also tried it on VLC Mediaplayer, and there it works perfect, I get to hear clear and good sound through my speakers/headphone. But now I want to get WinAmp working as I prefer WinAmp for music ![]() I was wondering if there's an additional setting/configuration to be done in WinAmp before I get output?! Here's some information if that can help, if you need more just ask!

Winamp's LineIn support is for visualizations only and sound playback is done directly through the soundcard. Normally, we would advise users to control the line-in or microphone volume through the playback section of the Windows mixer (via the speaker icon in the notification area). Unfortunately, with Windows Vista playback volume for the line-in and microphone is not made readily available (big thanks to Microsoft
). Some users have reported getting playback control for microphone/line-in after updating their soundcard driver(s).

Ah I see, thanks for the answer, I thought I'd be able to control playback (play/pause/stop) through winamp too, too bad I can't.
I'll keep using VLC for playback then. Thanks! |

Is there any way at all then to play the soundcard line-in through Winamp? I'm asking because I currently use Windows Mixer for this, but what I really need is to play it through Winamp's EQ and Audio PlugIns, thus through Winamp. |

To use Winamp's volume, EQ or DSP plug-ins with the LineIn try Jasper's LineIn plugin. Jasper's plugin uses line:\\ instead of linein:\\.
Due to the nature of the plug-in there is a latency (delay) issue. The online docs for Jasper's plug-in has some suggestions for minimizing the delay. |

Yeah I tried that one, and all it's settings, actually got rather complicated and didn't really work. Was hoping there might be another alternative. Lots of people are actually looking for this functionality, it would be nice if Winamp could natively support it - it beats the mega expensive and complicated alternatives out there to beef up your sound.
