Winamp keeps changing my default program

I want VLC media player to be my default player for video files. Whenever I change my default player to VLC, it keeps changing back to Winamp in a matter of a few hours. It's very frustrating. How can I stop winamp from changing my default media player?

Anybody? I go to options > preferences > file types and unselect video files for associated file types.

The problem is, everytime I exit preferences, it ALWAYS selects all of the video files again. I made sure that I had the "restore file associations" and "maintain file associations" checked but it does nothing. Why is Winamp doing this?!?!?

I am using 5.57 by the way. I just installed 5.56 instead and the problem has stopped. Seems like a BIG FLAW in the 5.57 version.

WINAMP PLEASE FIX THIS!

It's a known bug and was already reported internal. It will be probably sorted out for next release.

And it just happens under Windows 7.
