did i really install?

I have reseantly loaded windows 98 on my computer and now i have downloaded the full version of winamp. i installed the program and everything seemed to be fine. the problem: no icon was generated on my desktop and when i search and find winamp.exe my computer acts like it is loading something but winamp never opens. my task manager, however, tells me that winamp is open. why can't i use winamp?

do you see an Icon on the taskbar or system tray for winamp?
