FLAC Tags and Filenaming
I have about 600 FLAC files in my database. I want to convert these files to MP3 so I can play on my iPod, etc. When I run the conversion, the details of the tags are lost.
Here's an example. The following information is shown for the FLAC file in WinAmp: Track: Meet Virginia Artist: Train Album: Train Date: 1998 Track Num: 01 When I convert that file to .WAV or MP3, I wind up with track name "01 - 01 - Meet Virginia" and the rest of the info shown above is gone. I'd hate to have to manually update the tag information for all of these tracks. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance! |

Hi
Please attach your List Of Plugins Are you a Winamp Pro registered user? You can only transcode (with the Format Converter) to mp3 with Winamp Pro. WAV doesn't support tags/metadata. Though FLAC to MP3 should be working okay.... assuming you're using Pro and you haven't installed some bunk 3rd-party mp3 plugin. What method are you using, by the way? Right-click items in ML or Playlist -> Send To -> Format Converter? Or are you using Winamp to manage your iPod and you're using the auto transcode feature during the sync process? |
