There used to be an app that enabled one to make skins and set up most of the parameters visually. A search for this now gives nothing. Where are these wonderous items, so that I can make more, please?

Ull probably be better off doing it from scrath. Its hard work, but the results are tremendously better, and ull feel better knowing u didnt have to use a "skinner.exe".

Okay, how then does one either edit or create a "compressed BMP"? I've got Painter, PhotoDraw, LViewPro, and even the ubiquitous MS-Paint - and none of them support this format. If I try to save it as just a BMP it doesn't come out viewed through WinAmp the same at all, usually WinAmp goes to default in that sector.
Example, I took the great BoasII and thought I'd fiddle with the coloration of the face plate. Made a nice swirling pattern taken from a graphic I'd worked upon in the past, pasted it in, and saved it back to main.bmp. Used WinZip to merge it back in, renamed the zip file to wsz, and selected it with WinAmp. Ennh! That which I'd modified - main - comes up a dark grey, what looks like the default WinAmp face plate color. |
