I just installed 2.75 on a box that is running Windows NT4. Prior to this date the box was running Windows 95. I do not have any prior version to try (since I don't save the download exe's) or I would have. Nonetheless, the install progressed without incident. (I have installed other versions in the past on Windows 95 with no problems.) On NT4, however, when I try to run anything I get "A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system."

I tried looking through the forums for any match to "device id". A junior member had posted something that looked like the problem I am having. However, DJEgg just supplied a smart a__ response (never answering the question) and referred him to link. I tried the link but it is broken.

So, I am asking for some guidance here.

Thank you in advance.

You mean a smart ass response like this one:

Check this thread from Tech Support Greatest Hits & follow the links from there.

[RE: "mmsystem002 error" section]

Or, more specifically:
MMYSTEM002 Error (Device ID out of range) :

If you find a broken link, the normal procedure is to report it . . . so maybe you should've included the link in your post above, then I could've fixed it. But then again, with comments like that, you're lucky anyone's willing to help you at all!
I suppose you think I've made 3000+ other such posts without answering anyone too, eh?
