Maximum data space or number of songs in Winamp?
I got Winamp Pro 5.572 and the following problem: My complete database of music is included in one folder of 850 GB (app. 250000 songs) on a 1 TB external USB-HD. When I add this folder to the database, winamp shut down after app. 120 GB. Is there any limitation of songs, discspace or anything?
Thx for helping! Elwood |

there shouldn't be a limit to what can be handled though generally if Winamp crashes when adding a folder it's usually due to an issue with reading the metadata from a file. i think there is a way to roughly work out the folder/file it happens on but i really can't remember it at the moment.
unless when the crash happen it gives some sort of error report to indicate what has happened as the only other thing i can think off if you have a large collection is a stack overflow from it recursing through too many folders. but it shouldn't be crashing with things anyway so might be an idea to post a plug-ins list (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....161361#plugins) to see if there's anything else that maybe affecting things. -daz |

Click "Rescan Now" and watch the progress underneath to see which file it crashes/freezes on. |
