Playlist file corrupt?

Hi,

My favourite radio station has a browser based player. They're using flowplayer. It has very poor performance over slow connections. So instead, they've provided me with a Winamp playlist file that I should use. The link is: http://infant.antfarm.co.za/srn/tuksfm.pls

I've never been able to get the file to play. They insist that it must work and suspect that I may have some firewall setup problems.

I would truly appreciate it if someone (who knows what they're doing) could try the file out for me. I'll forward your response to them.

Thanks in advance!

well i've just tried and it works ok for me after entering the url you've posted or using the direct link in the playlist of http://216.246.37.52:8024

what i did notice is that it's an aacplus encoded stream so i'm wondering if you don't have the required files in your Winamp client to cope with it. can you provide a copy of your plug-in list (details on how to do that can be found at http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....161361#plugins ) so we can see what is present with your install.

My plugins

Thanks for the quick response. I've (hopefully) attached the file. I have Winamp 5.541 installed.

i've had a look at the file and other than upgrading to the current version i'm not too sure why it's not working as you appear to have everything present with your older client to play aac streams. hopefully someone with a better idea may be able to suggest something else as i'm not sure what else to suggest at the moment.

hmm, what does it show when you try to play the url - the title in winamp should change/show something if it cannot play it.

It says "[connecting]" and then shows some http address. After a few seconds it say's "[timed out]" and skips to the next track.

k, well hopefully someone with a better knowledge about streaming will be able to offer some better insight as at least it's trying to connect so that's something, can only otherwise think it might be a firewall blocking access to the stream if it's eventually timing out.
