I can't tell har far back, but winamp has been using alot of my computers resources, and slowing it down, and stuff. I remeber when i use to use it i had no problem. Is there any reason for that?

Computers get obsolete.

Expect WinAMP to be a bit demanding if you have a Pentium I or a very early Pentium II.

You can always decrease the sample rate on the mp3 decoder to perhaps 22k, that way less processor time will be used.
The sound quality will suffer, although it does work as I have to put it at this rate and in monoaural on my old 486 for anything to play at all!

Another option is to download an older winamp version and install it.

Ahem . . . installed any 3rd party plugins? General Purpose ones maybe?
Ahem #2 . . . full sys specs are usually in order when reporting potential bugs.
