Winamp Locks up (Windows 2000 PRO)

Not sure if this is a bug, but i think so..

When I attempt to play a song with winamp, it always locks up! It plays like the first second and then it just stops.

Not sure that this is a winamp or a w2k problem. When I first installed w2k it didn't work at all, so I downloaded the latest DirectX and it worked just fine for a couple of days. And then it stopped working. Have contacted Creative (I have a Creative (Soundblaster) Vibra128 Sound card) and downloaded the latest drivers, that didn't work either. My last hope relies on you now.... I really want to be able to use winamp...
