help with titles preference please
hello, i am using this [%artist% - ][$num(%tracknumber%,2) - ]$if2(%title%,$filepart(%filename%)) for titles, i have been trying to figure out how to put the year in after the track number, so for example : artist - album - track# year - song title. i have tryed messing with it but i cant get it to work so lookin for for help.
also i have been imputing the albums manually through file info, is there a way i can input the album to be displayed auto without have double albums on the ones i did manually ? like i added album in titles once and loaded new options and the album would be twice, artist - album - album. can i avoid this for the albums i have manually inputted ? thanks |

Question 1
[%artist% - ][$num(%tracknumber%,2) - ][%year% - ]$if2(%title%,$filepart(%filename%)) Question 2 I am having troubles following you on that. Where are the double albums displayed? Talking about the Media Library. Can you provide a screen-shot of what you are describing? |

thanks for the reply, the titles preference works great
as for question 2, the double album is displayed on media library. it is displayed twice because i had altered the file info as well as title preference. so i had gone into the file info and put the album name after the artist like example: artist: Insomnium - Above the weeping world. but when i add in %album% to title preference the album is displayed twice in the ML because i had added them in manually. is there a way i can add in album to titles without have them double up with ones i have done manually. i think ill have to go back and erase all the ones i entered

If you are adding the album title to the artist field (artist entry line), the Album appearing twice may be unavoidable. However, taking a guess if the Album name is part of the file path, then Winamp may be using that to replace missing tag data and that could be contributing to the issue. So, try the following setting...
1. Winamp > Ctrl+P (for Preferences) 2. Media Library > Local Media > Watch Folders tab 3. click the Configure button in 'Metadata Reading Settings' 4. You might want to try unchecking 'Read media information on import...' - or- select 'No Guessing' -or- select 'All' in the 'Use the following detection logic when' drop-down box. 'No Guessing' may be the one to do it. 5. close out of Prefs You may have to rescan watch folders if changes don't immediately display. |

Addendum
If you need to reedit the tag data, but don't want to have the edit each file one at a time, try a mass tag editor. .One of the highly suggest mass taggers here at Winamp Forums is MP3tag. .If you choose to use external tagger, you may need have the Media Library to rescan files, so the ML can recognize the change.
