Winamp / in_nsv higher cpu usage compared to vlc

Hello

Winamp / in_nsv has a higher cpu usage compared to VLC. :-(
Please try to improve the performance.

tested with:
http://188.165.217.130:8446;stream.nsv
(vp31, full screen mode: 1600x1200, different music video's)

VLC 1.05 (default settings): ~20%
Winamp 5.581 build 2985 pro german: ~40% CPU
(clean install with all official plug-ins, default settings)

Windows XP Pro x64 en/de SP2 with all updates
DirectX 9 June 2010
KLCP 6.2.0 mega

DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2 Black Edition, 2800 MHz (14 x 200) 5400+
MSI K9N SLI (MS-7250 v2) (3 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 2 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Dual Gigabit LAN)
nVIDIA nForce 570 SLI, AMD Hammer

Don't understand.

Winamp sits between 0.4% to 0.8% CPU here, rarely goes above 1%

The Performance Monitor uses more CPU than Winamp !

Is it the in_nsv or your choice of skin and other plugins that uses the CPU?

Try going barebones and than report back.

BTW, your signature is 5x too large. It should not exceed 3 lines of text. Yours has 15 lines.

Guess you like to do things to excess, so going barebones might not be an option for you.

Strange, I switched to the classic skin, tested it (low cpu) and switched back to bento skin and now both are ok.
