I don't remember what version it started on, but since that version until now, v2.75. winamp displays a memory error when I close it. in win2k it reads

winamp.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x02311643" referenced memory at "0x0231164". The memory could not be "read".

in win98 it shows something similar as well.

I have 384megs of ram, so is there some problem with too much ram? i've read about how windows98 has a bug where it crashes randomly if the computer has too much ram. but in winamp's case it does this in both win98se AND win2k

Remove 3rd-party plugins, particularly General Purpose (gen_*.dll)
