Winamp locking up PC completely
I've been using Winamp for years and never ran into any problems. Even now I've been running Windows 7 since it released and haven't had any issues until now.
However, now whenever I right-click on any item, e.g. to add items to a playlist or send to auto-tag, the computer becomes unresponsive and completely freezes up. If a song is playing, it stutters indefinitely. The only way to get back to normal is to perform a hard reboot. I'm running Windows 7 Professional x64 and like I said, I haven't had this issue before. I can't seem to figure out what has changed to bring about the issue. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Winamp, nor can I find any relevant logs in the Event Viewer. If there's anything else I can provide, let me know and I'll do so right away. Thanks for any assistance! |

i'd expect you're experiencing the conflict of the sonic burning engine and ml_disc and some virtual drive installed on your system. the options seem to be to either
a) remove ml_disc from your plug-in folder (disables cd views, ripping in the media library) b) remove Winamp completely including the burning engine then re-install without sonic c) don't use the send to menu d) wait for an update that resolves the issue (which i'd not expect for a while / at all sadly) -daz |

I tried option a) and it seemed to do the trick. Thanks for the help!
