Song title font changes when special character is used
I'm using the Winamp Modern skin and when an artist name has a special character, like an umlaut, the font changes in the main Winamp screen to what looks like an Arial font. Is this by design? I'd actually like all my song titles to appear that way.

By design, but some what unintentionally. The song-ticker font is a bitmap font, from the skin, and the Winamp Modern skin was designed before Winamp had full Unicode (international character) support. So, now that Winamp has Unicode support, it will substitute a Unicode font upon displaying a title with special character.
So are you saying that you would like the Arial font all the time and not just when there is a special character? If so... 1. Winamp > Ctrl+P (for preferences) 2. Skins > Modern Skins > Font Rendering tab 3. check-mark 'Use skin font mapper' > click the 'Configure Skin Font Mapping' button 4. from the 'Map front' drop down box select player.songticker.font > from the 'Into' box select [b]Arial Unicode MS or another Unicode font of choice > click the New botton 5. do the same for the shade.songticker.font 6. close out pf Prefs |
