I Need Help On What To Buy For Streaming
I will be Hosting a Live Internet Show on Stickam, and I want to stream music while talking at the same time through my PC. I have been told I need a Mixer, and a Mic to do this. I do not want to spend a lot of money either. Someone said to me buy a four channel Yamaha mixer, and a Mic with head phones. Do I need 4 channels, can I use 2 channel mixer ? And how do you set this up on USB, or other?
If anyone can suggest everything I need to buy, and how to hook it up so that it works, I would be grateful. Thank you |

What is your current setup? Is the music you are going to play stored on the computer you are going to source from or is it coming from hardware external to the computer? How do you plan to source the audio; SHOUTcast DSP, SAM, B.U.T.T., others? Answering these questions will yield the information required to make recommendations that would suite your needs (need more info.)
You're welcome |

I will be playing Music from my PC, and I do not have a CLUE what (audio; SHOUTcast DSP, SAM, B.U.T.T., others?) IS? I have been using just a USB Samson GO MIC, without any music. Just want to add some music in my stream while I am talking, the easiest way.

If you're sending audio from your computer to the internet radio server host then you probably won't need any additional hardware. Get started reading on that then if you have any additional questions or problems please post back here. |

If you want to talk and have music playing the best way is to use SAM BROADCASTER or RADIOBOSS SAM is my personal favorite, but costs near $300 with easy payments of $59 for 6 months. SAM would actually even allow you to have a 24/7 station if you wanted and you can consider it a virtual mixer for your computer. If you use the Firebird database its super easy to set up and if you can't afford much a good FREE shoutcast host is http://*************.com or http://fastcast4u.com as it actually allows you to have your Radio station actually working on Shoutcast.com (you have to reset the server everyday @ 6PM if you want 24/7 but it really works good for a free service.
If you want a good paid service see my signature below. Happy broadcasting. Great Broadcasting Software Windows XP/7/8 http://nextkast.com For Progressive Rock, Classic Rock http://thelegacy.shorturl.com |

Before beginning your project suggest you visit the SAM forums or forums for whichever system you plan to use and ask lots and lots of specific questions there. Pete http://www.timetrippinradio.com #1 All-Time Greatest Hits, All Day, All Night Blues, Jazz, R&B And Soul |

I've not messed with MySql as I've heard its a steep learning curve. However on the bright side I've never had trouble with Firebird however I don't stream ads, take request scripts from the web nor do I have to send playlist reports as Loudcaster handles auto reporting. I do understand that if you want to send playlist reports then Firebird is not the way to go. I'm just saying that SAM is not all that hard and you can have a station running in 20-30 minutes from the time you purchase the software, make a playlist and throw it online. I've set my station not to repeat the same song for 490 hours (Unless otherwise requested) or I put the songs there myself just because I feel they fit the bill for that day.
SAM is very easy for me to take requests via the Rockline this is why I love it. If you want some nice FREE software that uses MySql then http://radiodj.ro is a nice place to check out as their software doesn't seem that bad and is freeware. Only thing is its not a Radio station in a box like SAM or RadioBoss. Great Broadcasting Software Windows XP/7/8 http://nextkast.com For Progressive Rock, Classic Rock http://thelegacy.shorturl.com |

the user is being monitored anyway for suspicious posting behaviour so it's in hand.
