Windows 7 Clicking and lagging of music on high CPU load

I have Inspiron E1505 with Windows 7 i have audio controller and driver "SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio, v.6.10.0.5614, A09" driver i used for audio is latest, but its for for windows vista so (they don't have drivers for Windows 7 for this hardware), i am not sure if thats the reason though. All acceleration is set to max in control panel.
I having problem with sound when processor load is heavy music i play starts clicking.
I tried update chipset drivers to latest with no luck someone know what can i do to fix it?

It stops when you restart computer, but when you run computer for long time it comes back, pretty annoying...

Happens in windows media player as well so its not winamp problem.

In addition to ^that^, close & restart Winamp after the DirectSound tweaks. Although not necessary, you may want to close Winamp, Windows and restart the computer. Some users have found changes don't fully take effect until a reboot.

Thanks for reply.

It turns out i had no Chipset driver installed.
New one i downloaded from Intel site did nothing even though it said setup complete it was suspeciously fast.
One that was on dell site is older, but it worked i need to see and make sure it fixed problem though cuz it was usually smooth right after restart.

Do you know how to check what chipset driver version you have installed cant find it in device manager or uninstall programs in cpanel.

@MrVon

Try this...
1. System icon (System Properties) from Control Panel
2. Hardware tab > Device Manager button
3. expand System Devices > It may vary with you system, look for a chipset item in the list and double click on it

@drowz

Please start a new thread (your own) explaining your issue and provide Winamp & system specs.
