How to get streaming radio onto winamp?
I've been wondering if it's possible for me to take one of my stations that i enjoy (97.1 free FM LA) and be able to get there stream onto my winamp.
This way i dont have to go to their site and load up their little player thing every time i want to see whats on. Is this possible? Also if there is something thats need'd from the site its (www.971freefm.com) Thanks :3 |

i used to know how to get the link out of a site like this for winamp but all radio stations have changed how the page broadcasts the stream if you can find a file in your temp internet files\content.ie5 that has the exact link to the main stream you will be in luck but the way the stream is embedded in one of the multiple files that are from the site make it difficult to find if you can find i will congratulate you if not maybe one of the other winamp forum users can help locate the embedded link
thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

content.ie5 is a a hidden folder in the temporary internet file folder for internet explorer with sub folders you will never be able to find a embedded site in the internet files for firefox since firefox doesn't use file extensions on the temp files also firefox labels all files with random characters
the best way to find the file you need is to use internet explorer only for the main stream site to get the file extensions normally the stream will be in a asx file but the ones i was looking at didnt have the data i was looking for for you you are free to check the files yourself thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

How ironic that station is available in the AOL Radio section of the ML.

I agree with the both of you. However, it was kind-of funny the station was (is) in the ML the whole time.

Heres another question, i'm trying to get a local rock station onto my winamp, its not in AOL or the other thing in ML, so i go to the site but i cant even listen to the station because it says i need microsoft "silverlight", so i download it, but every time i go back to try and listen it still says i need it. so i cant even get onto the station to find the address to put into winamp later.
If anyone can do this or knows something else. please let me know. the station is 99.9 KISW (seattle, wa) and their site is KISW.com |

Copy and paste the following address into Winamp's open URL box...
mms://wmc2.den.liquidcompass.net/KISW It may take moment before it fully buffers and plays. Save it as a Winamp bookmark or playlist so it can be listened to at other times. |

I "cheated" a little bit and used a browser plug-in to find the address. From the "Listen Live" link there was also a link for the WMP embedded player. I am currently using Firefox 3 with the MediaPlayerConnectivity extension/plug-in. Which can extract embedded player links and play them in your favorite media player, such as Winamp (indeed). For those that are still holding on to FF2 Unplug is a good extension along the same idea.
Even without a plug-in like the above, a lot of the time you can look at the code in the playlist link or embedded player link by right clicking on the link and selecting "Save link/target as", the load the resulting file in a text editor. With a little practice, it is not too hard to recognize streaming link from the info in the file. That is how I used to do it before finding the mentioned FF extensions. |

For any station that uses StreamTheWorld...you can use...
http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/WXYZFMAAC.pls for the high quality AAC Stream. You can also use http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/WXYZFM.pls Just replace the call letters. You MUST keep "FM" in the URL. For AM stations, replace FM with AM. This works for CBS Radio stations, Emmis, Entercom and Cox (No ACC stream). Enjoy! ![]() -Chris |

What about this one: http://www.icrt.com*****live/nowonfm100.htm
I've been trying to crack the original stream from this one for a long time now, no results so far. I tend to belive that it is encoded in Silverlight app and thus not available for other media players. |

Take it a step further and add a button to your favorite skin via maki:
PHP Code:
Substitute your station's URL in the quotes.
