Winamp kills sd card access on HTC Desire

For some reason when i have winamp installed on my android, all other applications are eventually denied access to the sd card.
Not sure how and why, but there might be a connection to inserting an usb plug for charging.

Running a rooted HTC Desire with a modaco R9 rom and app2sd+.
No issues after removing winamp.

If you insert the USB cable, Under settings disable the auto-mount.

Setting the default action for the USB connection doesn't help at all. As a matter of fact, the phone shows "Charge Only" the card shows as dismounted and the PC will allow me to view the SD card.

When I uninstalled Winamp Android the problem went away.

I've heard that a lot of HTC phones using Sense have issues with music players other than the default Sense music player. The doubleTwist app also has major issues of this kind on the Incredible/Desire/etc.

MixZing, for example does not exhibit the issue. I don't believe Mort Player does either.

I don't have this problem on HTC Desire.

Of course that doesn't help. You have to disable the auto-mount option in the Winamp settings.
With this option disabled Winamp works really fine on my Desire!

I've tried this setting on HTC Wildfire, and it does nothing.

When I plug in USB from PC and select charge only, Winamp mounts the SD card, disabling it on the phone . This is not good - I want to charge the phone, and listen to music on SD.
I believe this can also lead to SD card corruption (see http://androidforums.com/incredible-...arge-mode.html) - I had this reported after unplugging, though thankfully turning off and on seemed to clear it.

Please fix this soon!

edc_Android Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Posts: 2	The issue does not occur with all 3rd party MixZing, for example does not exhibit the issue. I don't believe Mort Player does either.
