Automatic Import and Organization

I'm sorry if this has been answered, I searched and scrolled through but found nothing.

I used to use Winamp years ago and wound up leaving it do it's poor performance. I switched over to iTunes for whatever reason and have been unhappily using it since. Now with iTunes 10 and it's constant crashes I can't take it anymore.

About the only thing that iTunes did that I really liked was to automatically organize my music. Whenever it detected a new song, it would automatically copy it over into the library on the hard drive and create the necessary sub folders.

Currently I have 32,000 songs, and don't want to have to manually place each new song I get in its appropriate folder. Is there a plug-in or anything that will do this for me?

TIA

-Tom

Agreed!

This is the SINGLE feature that is not included that is preventing me from switching to WinAmp exclusively.

If WinAmp were to add this feature I see MANY people finally ditching iTunes.

WinAmp MUST add the iTunes feature that keeps your media folder(s) organized!!!!

whereas those of us who like Winamp like that it's not iTunes and that it doesn't screw around with the files. and there was a media library based plug-in which did this but it's now dead / no longer developed now.

I've downloaded the media library organizer, but haven't had a chance to play with it. I'll check it out tonight. I'm a little OCD, so I must have my music organized or I feel dirty LOL

just remember that it's a 3rd party plug-in so if things go wrong then it's not Winamp's fault (or mine, heh).

Don't worry, I won't hold you responsible ;-) I'm actually making a copy of my folders and playlist before I use, the last thing I want is to have it mess something up.

Thanks daz
