Ok, I installed Winamp 2.75, and now it can't download the song titles.
I'm guessing that it might not be a 2.75 problem, but I'm hoping someone else encountered this problem before and can help me out. I'm running Windows 2000 Professional with SP2. Thanks. |

Well, before, I could just pop in a CD and it would get the CD name nad title tracks for me.
Now, it keeps giving me the CD naming interface, and the button for CDDB is grayed out. I can't find anything in the preferences to set up CDDB either. I tried re-installing it... no go. I erased my copy of 2.73, so can't revert back to an old one either. I installed CDex for ripping, and it was able to connect to the CDDB database without a problem. |

Thanks
It was checked, but I'm guessing that it could not find my Poe: Haunted CD on the list.
The other CD I checked with was an import, but I had forgotten that it was. Funny, considering CDex was able to get it using CDDB. Oh well. |

Poe - Haunted is on the CDDB list. Is this the only disc that you tried?? What happens when you put in other CD's - ones that you have used before and have been sucessfully listed? And, when you put in a CD, does the "Querying CDDB Database" box come up??

Nope.
Only thing that pops up is the dialog for entering my own info for the CD. But I started putting in other US discs, and it worked... |

therein lies the answer to your problem. I said earlier that your CD is listed in the CDDB database. However, CDDB works by reading the table of contents on the CD, and different releases of the same CD sometimes have slightly different TOC's. This is why you'll often see different versions of the same CD in the database.
The fact that your other disks work fine means that winamp is working okay. Next time, submit the details of your disc so that the archive stores it. Like my photography? Buy some here.... |

I just bought four new CDs, and three of them will not be recognized by CDDB. I looked at their site and they have them listed. WTF.com. All of my stuff is set properly and like I said the one CD did get recognized. It was a CD from last year though, and the three not recognized where new releases in the past month.

Admittedly I don't know how CDDB is organised and updated, but is it possible that the details for the three new CDs you bought haven't been added to CDDB yet?
