Newbee Problem

I am trying to create a large main window with large buttons. The problem I am having is that the items i place on the main window get cut off. The main window size is large but less then have of it is filled in.

I created the skin by modifying the modern tutorial skin and doubling the images. Found some large button images and updated the XML to move things around. I did not specify w and h (I did try that later but still no change).

Help would be appreciated.
