Disable Screensaver?

Sorry if this has been posted already; a search of the forums didn't reveal an answer...

Is it possible to disable the screensaver whenever winamp is playing AUDIO? I know this setting exists for video, but is there one for just any type of playing? Is there a plugin?

Thanks,
Ryan

http://nunzioweb.com/daz/autofs.html -> ignore the video options and just look at the 'screensaver control' section particularly with the 'disable the screensaver only' option which i think will disable the screensaver for audio as well let me know either way how it works (though i've a feeling i may need to patch the plugin anyway).

Bump...this is a pretty simple issue, feels like there should be some way to do this!

i've not had the time to do anything towards fixing the plug-in along with other projects that i'm tied to working on at present (localisation fixes in the player rank far higher than issues with my plug-ins) so unfortunately this is low on my priority to find the time to work on at the moment (unless i can find the time in the next few weeks).

i believe some video cards (nvidia mostly) have a feature that if you are using the visualizations in winamp it will temporarily bypass the screen saver until you close the program
but i believe if you are looking just at the regular media library it will go to screen saver unless you manually turn it off
dont hold me to this info as i am not completely certain about its accuracy

thanks rob

Still facing this issue.

Has anyone been able to find a "fix" or "tweak" to address this issue about getting Winamp disabling Windows screensaver during audio playback? I haven't been able to figure this one out yet.

It's funny, because to keep the machine from going to screensaver mode and eventually to hybernating, I have to open Win Media Player, play a song in repeat mode, and mute it.

the issues with my plug-in are going to be looked into over the next few weeks to see if it can be resolved (as i've not personally used the plug-in for a few years so i've no idea what is or isn't working in it).

That is great news DrO and much appreciated! I've just completely revamped my music collection (proper tagging and such) in preparation for setting up a nice media center.

I was thinking something like this so when WinAmp is opened it bypasses the screensaver and launches Milkdrop or whatever visualization plugin you have would be great for a party setting. People can just move the mouse or whatever to queue up a song then leave the PC sitting there and will launch the visualization that goes along with the music.

Amazing work as always!

sadly not at the moment, have been busy with work so there's not been much time to work on any of my plug-ins. might be a window over the holiday period though that i can try to look into it (but no promises).

A good tweak i found is to use "ScreenSaver Commander" http://www.bdvnotepad.com/sscom_en.htm.
So the screen saver can be disabled when winamp windows is present.
It works fine !
