Is there an official status update from a dev on the app playing on its own?
It's been detailed here and here. I just want to know if I should bother checking the forums frequently for an official statement from a developer. Winamp is definitely the best music player for android, but it's absolutely useless to a significant portion of its users if it starts playing for no reason. Should I just abandon all hope?

I'd appreciate hearing something too. I would like for nothing more than to be able to reinstall Winamp.

This was the last straw for me yesterday, when Winamp suddenly started playing music in the middle of an important meeting. This 'feature', coupled with other issues such as WiFi sync not working with the Galaxy S external SD card, lack of proper podcast support, non-functional Shoutcast, etc., have led me to believe that it is still an extremely half-baked app, which really should still be labelled as beta. I've uninstalled it and won't be holding my breath waiting for a properly functioning version, based on the glacial (non-) advances on these and other issues to date.

Can someone recommend an alternative? The default music app for my Captivate skips and lags frequently, and you can't search.
On an unrelated note, my Captivate erases the content of all my playlists whenever I plug it into my computer, with any music app. Anybody have any idea why this would happen? |
