Bumpity-Bump-Bump
I just found this thread after spending three days tracking down the source of my very hot power drain. Turns out it was indeed Winamp and only the WiFi sync process was running.
If it helps, the power drain was only a problem when... 1) WiFi Sync was enabled 2) Not connected to any WiFi network With a network traffic monitor, I could see the Winamp process hitting my 3G connection every 4 seconds. Once I connected to a WiFi network, the traffic pattern continued but it was NOT causing a power drain or overheating. Seems like the simple solution would be to code the WiFi sync process to shut the hell up when the phone is using a 1/3/4G network. Whatever it's doing at that time, the phone no likey. Winamp 1.0.3 on Android 2.2.1 on Droid X. |
