how do you search a playlist?

secondly, is there an add-on or something for searching/managing multiple playlists?

To search in a playlist, simply press the 'J' key on your keyboard.

no go. pressing 'J' just made it skip over to a playlist whose name starts with a 'J'.

there is no search option currently for playlists stored in the media library (as it sounds like you're trying to do).
