Winamp Wants to Resync Files Already Synced

So I wirelessly sync my MP3s from Winamp on my desktop to my HTC Desire.

Once the sync is complete it says there are 0 files to be transferred to the device - AWESOME! All synced!

Except when I disconnect and reconnect my phone - it now says there are 530 songs on my phone not in my Local Media library - and asks if I want to delete or keep these - and wants to sync 530 songs to my phone.

Ie Once a sync is complete, once you disconnect and reconnect Winamp doesn't recognise any of the songs it just synced a moment ago and wants to resync. This is particularly irritating.

I have deleted all songs, deleted my Local Media Library, started fresh - same issue. I have the latest Winamp, latest Winamp app....

Anyone else having the same issue? I can't find a fix despite many google searches.
