I have same problem here.
I am using Winamp version 5.622 and Windows7 32-bit.
Sometimes ago I used Winamp version 5.581 and have no problem with notifier.
Hope it will be fixed soon.

Same thing here. Was using the latest version with Windows 7 64-bit until I came across this thread. Downgraded to v5.56 and it works perfectly.

the problem is the skin - downgrading Winamp itself is just insane. backup the old skin folder, upgrade Winamp to the supported version and then copy back in the backed-up skin folder over the 'newer' skin folder contents. or just copy / rename the older version of the skin folder and use that instead of the normal name for it.

as for the patch i said about, i've not had the time and currently cannot say now if i'd even be able to do it.

That's good enough of a solution for me, thank you for pointing it out... another possibility would be using Snarl with the appropiate extension, like I have done until now.
